Tatuaje remained consistent over the years, sticking to the familiar TAA blend composed of Nicaraguan binder and filler wrapped in a rugged Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. However, this tradition shifted in 2019 when a new blend was introduced for the first time in the series. Then, in 2020, further changes were made, momentarily suggesting the end of the cherished yearly release.
Fortunately, this final blend garnered significant praise, possibly inspiring the revival of both the original TAA blend and the modified spinoff. Tatuaje accomplishes this by honoring both organizations: the original Broadleaf blend continues as the annual TAA release, while the updated variant pays tribute to the Premium Cigar Association (PCA).
The Tatuaje PCA cigar first launched in 2022, now being revived in a new 6⅜" x 54 size (which mirrors the TAA release's size) for 2023. Limited to 2,500 boxes of 20 cigars for the year, the Tatuaje PCA 2023 cigar boasts hearty Nicaraguan tobaccos throughout the binder/filler, being finalized in a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.
